Planned school expansion? Modules come to the rescue
Increasing the space of an educational establishment is a huge challenge. School principals have to take care of many elements. To avoid the unnecessary chaos of protracted construction work, many choose to invest in modern modular schools.
Buildings created from prefabricated elements are widely used in many countries. They are used as restaurants, hotels and educational units, among others. Modules are also used to construct numerous public buildings, such as schools, kindergartens or hospitals. You can see some of the projects we have carried out in the Projects tab. Although classic solutions still dominate in Poland, investors are beginning to notice the advantages of prefabricated construction. In the coming years, interest in this technology is forecast to increase in public buildings (2).
Modular schools - is it worth betting on them?
Until now, many people have opted for traditional construction because there was a misconception that it was more robust. Meanwhile, the components that make up modular schools are manufactured under controlled and repeatable conditions. Their technical performance is of very good quality. A team of engineers is involved in the design of the individual components. This makes alternative construction increasingly popular in our country.
Modular schools - advantages
Climatic has been carrying out projects for educational units for years. Construction parts are used not only to erect ready-made buildings in modular technology from scratch, but also to extend the existing infrastructure with additional classrooms, cloakrooms and utility rooms.
Ability to conduct lessons freely
When planning an investment, the comfort of pupils and staff must be taken into account. Construction work carried out in the traditional way involves many inconveniences. Cleanliness is difficult to maintain. Parts of the building have to be inaccessible for a certain period of time. All this makes it difficult to implement the teaching material. With prefabricated buildings, installation time is kept to a minimum.
Compliance with current legislation and safety standards
The premises made up of the components are highly functional. They have the necessary sanitary facilities and installations. The components supplied by Climatic are manufactured from steel profiles that meet all safety standards, as well as health and safety and sanitary requirements. In addition, the constructions are adapted to fire regulations.
Low operating costs
The unit's budget for the year in question is set out in the budget resolution. On the basis of this, the director draws up a financial plan, which includes income and expenditure. In order to oversee finances efficiently, it is necessary to look for ways to minimise costs. Hence, many choose to modernise their buildings. The use of prefabricated elements eliminates thermal bridges and the finishing materials used provide excellent thermal insulation. In the long term, such measures generate huge savings.
Ease of room layout configuration
It is also worth mentioning the issue of matching the appearance of the interior to current needs. Partition walls are installed using the drywall method. This allows for free arrangement. Depending on the needs, the space can be used in any way desired, e.g. as a gymnasium or several computer rooms.
Comprehensive implementation, minimum formalities
The use of prefabricated elements also involves less stress in coordinating the project. There is no need to control the renovation team, as most of the work is done on site. All you need to do is agree the details of the work with the contractor, make the facility available and take part in the acceptance of the project.
The modern modular school is the future!
Directors of educational establishments are increasingly bold in turning to alternative construction solutions. This is primarily due to the speed of construction. The lack of downtime and weather-related constraints also determine the choice. What is more, premises can be erected on soil with poor bearing capacity - provided a foundation slab is used. It is worth adding that the prefabricated units produced today are distinguished by their durability and represent an investment for many years.
