SUPERSTRUCTURE AND EXTENSION
One of the key advantages of modular building technology is its extreme flexibility and efficiency in the context of the superstructure and extension of existing buildings. This is particularly true in locations with very limited access, such as building roofs, patios, connecting walkways or outbuildings.
Modular technology makes it possible to carry out extensions or additions to existing buildings without taking them out of use. Modules are prepared and finished in the prefabrication plant, where the degree of prefabrication is up to 90 per cent, reducing the time and scope of on-site work to a minimum.
The superstructure of existing buildings carried out using modular technology allows building users to function normally during the project, which is particularly important in the context of superstructure of buildings such as hospitals and other healthcare facilities. The installation of the additional building floor itself only takes about 2-3 nights and the residual work carried out on site is carried out in a non-intrusive manner (without the risk of flooding or damage to the functioning building infrastructure).
With a fire classification of REI 120, the superstructure can be made into a separate fire zone.
Because the modules are several times lighter than traditional building solutions due to their steel construction, often superstructures do not require the existing building to be reinforced (or much less reinforcement is required).
